Today is Valentine’s Day- it’s been 2 days since we’ve heard Alice cough; we think she’s finally over her flu…knock on wood? We’re hoping to be rid of the aerobear this weekend (that’s her steroid puffer she’s been on for 2 months). Alice is very good at her aerobear, and often does it herself. The first few days she was on it, we had to force it to her face and make her breathe, it was aweful; much like the whole illness was. Alice didn’t eat anything for 9 days, didn’t even take a single step for 12. She just slept, sat in her chair and watched movies or be carried up/down stairs— Don and I’s arms were so sore! Alice was also so miserable the whole time she was sick, it was exhausting. There was so much crying, both by Alice and Mommy. It was hard to have Alice so sick, along with Don and myself. We were so grateful that my mother came up twice to help with Alice, once before Christmas and then again on boxing day. We couldn’t have made it through without her, thanks mom! Anyway, on happier notes, Alice had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. We got many treats and valentines from all the kids at Donna’s and went to Auntie Tammy’s after Mommy was done work. Nana, Papa and Auntie Rene were there, as well as Auntie Chrissy and Cassie. We decorated heart cookies and opened presents— it was just like Christmas! We are so glad to have our little girl back- healthy and happy, that’s all that matters.
